Visit 1921 to relish the best of Floridian cuisine with awesome local ingredients and seasonal flavours. Also, when it comes to food quality, menu, service and ambience, 1921 is hands down our top pick in Orlando currently. The restaurant is hot in Orlando, both for the food critics and the visitors.

If you are looking for authentic Chinese food in Orlando, Chuan Lu is the place for you. It’s a small Szechuan restaurant within a restaurant. Since it serves Szechuan, so the food is beyond spicy. 8 Relatable English Songs For Every Wanderluster

Quoting from one of our own blogs:

Travelling is an addiction that only does you good. It teaches you to not merely exist but living your life to the fullest. Every voyage that you take, adds something valuable to your personality which expands your perspective, broaden the horizons of your mind and imbibe the values of endurance in you.

Relatable much? If you too are hooked with the sheer charm of travelling, then these songs will inspire you to cure your itchy feet right away!

“A Good Day To Run” By Darryl Worley

Darryl Worley perfectly describes the apathy of our mundane lives and being stuck with a 9 to 5 lifestyle. The song talks about breaking free and hitting the road and we couldn’t agree more with its lyrics.

Here’s an excerpt.

My baby’s been working as a cashier
She didn’t get a vacation this past year
Now it won’t be long
We don’t need no destination
Just a tank of gas and a good clear station
Playing our favourite song
There’re some places that we ain’t been
Some things we ain’t done
And it sure looks like a good day to run

“On The Road Again” By Willie Nelson

This song will make you want to hit the road right away.  The song reached No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a reason. In fact, Willie Nelson won a Grammy Award for the Best Country Song for this song.

And every travel buff will relate to its lyrics that goes like this:

And I can’t wait to get on the road again
On the road again

Goin’ places that I’ve never been
Seein’ things that I may never see again

And I can’t wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Like a band of gypsies, we go down the highway

“Roam” By The B-52’s

According to Wikipedia Roam was number three on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in March 1990 and stayed a total of 19 weeks on the chart.

Roam gives you travel goals for sure. If you have been procrastinating travelling by any chance, the song is your med.

Fly the great big sky see the great big sea
Kick through continents bustin’ boundaries
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world, the trip begins with a kiss

And that reminds us to inform you that you can buy the cheapest flights here.

“Wherever I May Roam” By Metallica

Rover, wanderer, Nomad, vagabond, call me what you will”, need we say more? The song evokes the spirits of travel and nomadic life.

“Anywhere I roam, Where I lay my head is home”, all the backpackers will definitely relate to this one.

And the road becomes my bride
I have stripped of all but pride
So in her, I do confide
And she keeps me satisfied
Gives me all I need

“Fly Away” By Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz totally tosses the vacation spirits with this one.

Let’s fade into the sun
Let your spirit fly
Where we are one
Just for a little fun

“Fly Away” is also Kravitz’s most successful songs till date.

Let’s go and see the stars
The milky way or even Mars
Where it could just be ours

*That’s totally a badass travel goal*

“The Passenger” By Iggy Pop

The best part of this song is that it was inspired by a real-life travel experience. Iggy Pop confirmed in an interview with The Guardian that “…I’d been riding around North America and Europe in David’s ( David Bowie) car ad infinitum. I didn’t have a driver’s licence or a vehicle.”

I am the passenger and I ride and I ride
I ride through the city’s backsides
I see the stars come out of the sky
Yeah, the bright and hollow sky
You know it looks so good tonight

The song surely captures the travelling spirits.

“Around The World” by Red Hot Chili Peppers

This popular track from Red Hot Chilli Pepper’s most commercially successful album “Californication“, is perfect for someone who dreams of travelling the world. In fact, Anthony Kiedis himself stated that he is recounting his journeys and experiences in the song.

Here’s an excerpt:

Fox hole love
Pie in your face
Living in and out
Of a big fat suitcase

“I’ve Been Everywhere” By Johnny Cash

The song has been sung by various singers (all of them are good). However, the song was originally written by Australian country singer Geoff Mack in 1959.

 I’ve been everywhere, man.

Climbing The Magnificent Kilimanjaro

A dormant volcano in Tanzania (East Africa), Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in the African continent. When it comes to climbing the mountain, Kili is a roller coaster of a climb. It is also known as the ‘walk-up mountain’ and hence, climbing on this highest free-standing mountain in the world is not a dream you cannot fulfil.

mount-kilimanjaro-278082
However, the climb is neither very easy, nor is it impossible. Around 30,000 people climb Mount Kili annually, but only three-quarter of these climbers reach the Summit. The biggest lagging point is altitude sickness.

Well, to make it easier, the Flights Guru presents you a quick guide to help you decide if the Kili climb is suitable for you or not.

Location and Height

Mount Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania in East Africa on the border with Kenya. There are various predictable figures when it comes to its height. Usually, it is estimated to be 5895 meters (19,341 ft). And in case, you successfully reach the summit (which is not a piece of cake), then you obtain a certificate where this height is printed.

kilimanjaro-574601
Climate and Local Culture

The climate is quite surprising. More or less, you can enjoy all kinds of ecological systems here (though all of them aren’t very pleasant). From the cultivated land, moorland, rain forest to alpine deserts and arctic summit; it’s a full-on interactive geography class (so it’s informative, in case you missed few classes in school).

January-March and June-October are the best months to go trekking. Among them, January-March is colder.

kilimanjaro-342698
The local language on mountain Kilimanjaro is Kichagga which is mainly spoken by the local Chagga community. English is widely spoken among the tour guides and some of the well-read members of the mountain crew.

Is The Mountain Dangerous?

Well, there is nothing on the mountain that will take your life. Although while moving ahead to a higher altitude area, most people feel sick and retire from trekking. There are no huge and dangerous animals that can scare the trekkers. Though there are elephants, cape buffaloes and other animals that can be potentially risky. Lightning strikes and rock falls may also happen but, they are occasional.

giphy (104)
Trekking Time

Usually, it is about 5 days. Though, some groups trek for around 6 to 8 days in length. Most agencies refrain from selling 5 days trek packages. The reason being that it does not provide you ample time to acclimatise.

Also, the guides advise you to go “pole pole” (slow in Swahili) for a good reason.

carrier-574293
Should You Be A Mountaineer To Climb Kili?

No, it’s not rocket science. You might not believe this but Kili’s climbing history includes many senior citizens (the oldest being 86 years old). In fact, wheelchair-bound Bernard Goosen made it to the mountain by crawling to the Summit without any assistance. And wait, HE DID IT TWICE (so where there’s a will, there’s a way).

giphy (105)
Talking about that, the youngest British citizen to climb Kilimanjaro is Zain Akrim. He climbed to the summit at 9 years of age in 2015. Therefore, if you are interested in the climb, you can take these guys as inspiration.

What Else Should You Know Beforehand?

In addition to the above-mentioned points, you should know few more things in advance.

•  You cannot climb Mount Kili without any tour guide or agency. The park authorities made it compulsory in 1991 for all the climbers to sign up with an agency. Therefore, it is important that you choose the agency wisely.

kilimanjaro-574299
•  Since you need to cross almost every type of landscape, you should bring clothes according to what is comfortable in those weather conditions. From deserts, jungles to snowy locations; your eyes get to feast on almost everything.

selva-marine-382013
•  Toilet paper is a boon for the place.

kilimanjaro-1536827

• Food options differ from agency to agency but all of them essentially focus on wholesome and healthy food.

kilimanjaro-342696

• The staffs sing inspiring songs about Mount Kilimanjaro while trekking in the local language Swahili. The crew highly appreciates if you catch few words and hum along.

africa-1127188

Well, there will be ups and downs while you climb to the summit, but it will let you see the most magnificent sceneries ever, offer overwhelming experiences and give lifelong memories to you.
